Business Development Director – US Defense Sector

Position Overview
We seek a seasoned Business Development Director specializing in the U.S. Defense Sector to join our global team. This role will be based in the U.S., aligning with Ericsson’s strategic focus on expanding its presence in the North American market.
Responsibilities
- US Innovation Focus: Collaborate with Ericsson US local teams to promote innovation within the U.S. Defense sector's mobile communications ecosystem, aligning strategies with Ericsson's goals and supporting the DoD's FutureG plans.
- Strategic Initiatives: Lead the execution of initiatives to remove barriers, strengthen partnerships, and boost US Defense sector mobile communications innovation.
- Market Engagement: Engage with senior industry executives to position Ericsson as a leader in MCN innovation and participate in industry forums.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Lead and mentor cross-functional teams working on market and business development programs within the defense area.
- Performance Oversight: Track and document market development initiatives, ensuring they meet milestones and deliver quantifiable results.
Minimum Requirements
- Deep understanding of the critical communications market, including industry dynamics, regulations, and ecosystem.
- At least 10 years of experience in the US Defense market, with recognized standing in the industry.
- Experience with business development and procurement processes involving government and defense agencies.
- Knowledge of operational requirements and delivery models in defense communications.
- Understanding of complex technology solutions in defense communications and lifecycle cost models.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field with a solid understanding of mobile communications.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with adaptability and strategic planning skills.
- Resilience in navigating long sales cycles and customer-centric approach.
- Strong analytical skills for market analysis and strategy development.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with experience in diverse, multinational environments.
- Proven ability to lead large initiatives and influence industry standards.
