Job summary

Merck's Future Talent Program offers internships up to 12 weeks within the Global Support Functions Division in the United States. The Global Safety & Environment Intern will support EHS initiatives by providing compliance and technical assistance to global partners, focusing on biosafety COE programs across global operations.

The role includes database migration, biosafety program improvements, protocol reviews with biosafety officers, and tracking events to inform preventive strategies.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in public health, Safety, Environmental Science, Biology, Biological Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Biotechnology, or a similar technical field.
• Completed at least two years of college coursework.

Responsibilities

• Support database migration, data editing, and digital tracking activities.
• Help streamline and enhance biosafety programs, including change management and continuous improvement efforts.
• Collaborate with Biosafety Officers and Subject Matter Experts on protocol reviews, training materials, procedures, and risk assessments.
• Track biosafety-related events, identify trends, and help analyze root causes to support preventive strategies and communicate insights that support decision-making.
• Maintain and update biosafety manuals, guidelines, and web content for accuracy and accessibility.
• Explore and share successful practices from global sites to support the evolution of the EHS program.
• Provide project support for biosafety change management initiatives.
• to assist with the development and implementation of global biosafety program which ensure safe practices globally.
