Job summary

Oracle seeks aPower Generation Manager to lead strategy, reliability, and operation of backup power across data-center infrastructure. You will drive maintenance programs for diesel, natural gas, and dual-fuel systems, mentor engineers, and collaborate with OEMs and vendors to resolve issues and improve uptime.

The role involves 50% travel, on-site work at multiple locations, and ensuring safety, compliance, and cost-effective performance while delivering training and fleet-wide improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or 10+ years in power generation/critical facilities.
• Experience with reciprocating-engine backup power systems in high-availability environments.
• Deep technical expertise with emergency generators and engines including diesel/natural gas/dual-fuel.
• Knowledge of engines, controls, fuel delivery, cooling, lubrication, and transfer interfaces.
• Experience leading failure investigations, reliability programs, and vendor escalations.
• Proven people-leadership ability across distributed teams.
• Strong analytical skills using data to drive reliability improvements.
• Experience creating technical standards, procedures, and training programs.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of power-generation experts across regions.
• Own the maintenance and reliability program for backup generators and related systems.
• Establish fleet health metrics, reliability trends, failure modes, and lifecycle risks.
• Develop maintenance scopes of work, procedures, standards, and service-provider requirements.
• Provide technical oversight for reciprocating engines and generator systems.
• Lead complex root-cause investigations and implement corrective actions fleet-wide.
• Collaborate with OEMs, vendors, and service providers to resolve issues and verify actions.
• Train critical-facility engineers on operating and maintaining emergency power systems.
• Drive continuous-improvement to reduce costs and increase reliability.
