Job summary

Meta in Menlo Park, CA is seeking a Network Planner to help expand our ultra-high capacity backbone. You will analyze traffic projections, build capacity plans, and work with software and product teams to optimize performance and scalability.

The role requires 3+ years in network planning, experience with IP/Optical networks, and proficiency with planning tools. BS/MS in a technical field is preferred; on-site California with competitive compensation and equity is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of network planning in high-capacity environments.
• Experience designing IP/Optical/Fiber networks and building resiliency.

Responsibilities

• Analyze traffic capacity projections and develop capacity plans for the optical transport network.
• Collaborate with Software & Product Engineering to develop capacity models and simulations.
• Partner with Network Engineering to establish design standards and production integration.
• Monitor IP/Optical technology roadmaps to support scaling and resiliency.
• Create what-if scenario models for greenfield and brownfield demand/supply.
