Job description

Team: Approximately 15 remote team members

About Reach

Reach is a global automotive aftermarket parts manufacturer and supplier serving customers across North America, Europe, Latin America, and Asia.

We are seeking an experienced Director of Catalog & Content to lead our global catalog organization and build best-in-class automotive application and product content capabilities.

The Role

The Director of Catalog & Content will own Reach’s automotive catalog strategy and execution, with a strong focus on ACES application creation, fitment accuracy, application coverage, product content, competitive gap analysis, and speed-to-market.

This position will lead a remote team of approximately 15 catalog and content professionals and establish the processes, systems, KPIs, and quality standards required to support Reach’s continued growth.

We are looking for more than a catalog administrator. We want a leader who understands that catalog coverage and accuracy directly drive sales, customer satisfaction, and market share.

Key Responsibilities

ACES & Application Data

  • Own the creation, validation, maintenance, and improvement of ACES application data.
  • Ensure compliance with current Auto Care ACES standards and customer requirements.
  • Establish scalable processes for creating new applications and vehicle fitment records.
  • Improve fitment accuracy and reduce missing applications, incorrect applications, and duplicates.
  • Develop processes for researching OE numbers, interchange, vehicle configurations, engines, and application attributes.
  • Partner with Product Management and Engineering to convert technical product information into accurate catalog applications.
  • Improve speed from new-product development to customer-ready catalog data.
  • Build systematic processes to identify application and SKU gaps versus competitors.
  • Analyze application opportunities using VIO, competitive coverage, customer demand, and commercial potential.
  • Prioritize the highest-value missing applications for Product Management.
  • Track coverage by product category, vehicle platform, model year, and customer.
  • Provide management with regular reporting on coverage opportunities and competitive gaps.

The goal is not simply to maintain the catalog—it is to continuously increase the percentage of the aftermarket Reach can sell to.

Product Content

Own the accuracy and completeness of product information, including:

  • Product descriptions and attributes
  • OE and interchange numbers
  • Vehicle applications
  • Technical specifications and dimensions
  • Product images and digital assets
  • Features and benefits
  • Packaging information
  • PIES data

Ensure content is accurate, complete, consistent, and ready for customer distribution.

Lead and develop approximately 15 remote catalog and content team members.

  • Establish measurable individual and team KPIs.
  • Set productivity and accuracy standards.
  • Manage workload, priorities, and deadlines.
  • Develop team leaders and high-potential employees.
  • Build training, SOPs, and quality-control processes.
  • Recruit additional talent when necessary.
  • Create accountability across a geographically distributed organization.

The successful candidate must be comfortable managing a remote organization through clear processes, communication, data, and measurable results.

Systems, Automation & AI

Work with IT and Product Management to improve catalog technology and productivity.

Identify opportunities to leverage:

  • PIM and catalog management systems
  • Automated data validation
  • APIs and workflow automation
  • AI-assisted application creation
  • AI-assisted product matching and content creation

The Director should continuously seek ways to increase catalog output and accuracy through technology and automation rather than simply adding headcount.

Customer Support

Partner with Sales and customers to ensure Reach’s catalog data meets customer requirements.

Quickly investigate and resolve issues involving missing or incorrect applications, interchange discrepancies, incomplete attributes, images, content, and new-product activation.

Key Performance Indicators

Success will be measured through:

  • ACES application accuracy
  • Application and competitive coverage
  • Catalog error and customer rejection rates
  • New SKU catalog completion time
  • Percentage of SKUs with complete content
  • Team productivity
  • Customer issue resolution time
  • Speed from product approval to customer-ready catalog

Required Experience

  • 8+ years of automotive aftermarket catalog/content experience preferred.
  • 3+ years leading catalog, content, or product-data teams.
  • Deep working knowledge of ACES and strong understanding of PIES.
  • Experience creating and validating automotive application/fitment data.
  • Strong understanding of OE and interchange research.
  • Experience with large automotive product databases and PIM/catalog systems.
  • Experience managing remote or distributed teams.
  • Strong analytical and Excel/data skills.
  • Strong understanding of automotive aftermarket terminology and vehicle configurations.

Preferred Background

Experience with sophisticated automotive aftermarket catalog organizations such as NAPA/Genuine Parts Company, AutoZone, O’Reilly Auto Parts, Advance Auto Parts/Carquest, Standard Motor Products, Dorman, Gates, Dayco, Four Seasons, Continental, BBB Industries, or similar organizations is highly desirable.

Experience participating in or leading teams recognized for ACPN catalog and content excellence is a strong plus.

What Success Looks Like

Within the first 12–18 months, this leader will have:

  • Significantly improved ACES accuracy and application coverage.
  • Established measurable productivity and quality standards.
  • Built systematic competitive coverage and gap analysis.
  • Reduced new-product catalog launch time.
  • Improved OE/interchange and product-content completeness.
  • Implemented clear catalog performance dashboards.
  • Increased the productivity of the existing team through better processes, automation, and AI.

Our goal is to make catalog and content a competitive advantage for Reach—helping us identify opportunities faster, launch products faster, increase market coverage, and provide customers with industry-leading fitment and product data.
