Smithfield Foods, Inc. is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to lead qualification and deployment of controls, robotics, machine vision, and automation across processing and packaging operations. You will be the technical authority for automation architecture, safety, and regulatory compliance, collaborating with U.S.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation Engineering, Robotics, or related field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in industrial automation, controls, robotics, or manufacturing engineering.
• Strong knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, industrial networking, controls architecture, and machine safety systems.

Responsabilidades

• Lead qualification, validation, and acceptance testing of automation, robotics, machine vision, inspection technologies, and advanced manufacturing systems.
• Lead the development, review, and standardization of controls architectures, PLCs, HMIs, and industrial networks across global operations.
• Conduct machine safety assessments and controls reviews to ensure regulatory compliance and mitigate risks.
• Collaborate with U.S. and China operations to transfer, adapt, and standardize proven automation technologies.
• Develop and implement next-generation automation, robotics, and digital manufacturing solutions with OEMs and internal stakeholders.
• Evaluate and qualify processing controls, packaging systems, robotics, machine vision, X-ray, metal detection, checkweighing, traceability, and end-of-line automation.
