Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to improve, maintain, and support all automated Assembly, Test, and Production systems at the facility. You will enhance equipment performance and deliver sustainable automation solutions across cross‑functional teams.

Ideal candidates have hands‑on PLC programming, HMIs, robotics, and data analytics experience, along with a strong drive for continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or related field.
• Hands‑on experience with PLC programming, HMIs, sensors, robotics, motions systems, and industrial networks.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to analyze equipment data to improve OEE and reliability.
• Understanding of electrical schematics, controls design, and Lean/CI principles.

Responsibilities

• Improve performance, uptime, and reliability of automated assembly and testing equipment.
• Lead troubleshooting of complex automation issues including PLC logic, sensors, HMIs, robotics, and servo/motion systems.
• Develop, modify, optimize, and maintain PLC programs and HMI screens; ensure robust documentation.
• Own OEE improvement initiatives and analyze downtime trends to drive improvements.
• Lead automation activities for new equipment: specs, vendor management, design reviews, commissioning.
