Job summary

Lindsay Corporation is seeking a General Assembly Technician to perform bench or line assembly operations mass-producing metal products such as components and hydraulic cylinders. You will read schematics and blueprints, operate presses and rivet machines, and help assemble wheel assemblies and kits on a fast-paced line.

The role requires the ability to use tape measures and calipers, read detailed instructions, and work overtime/weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Must read a tape measure and blueprints.
• Knowledge of caliper gauges and computers.
• Familiar with hand tools – drills, screwdrivers, etc.
• Overtime and weekend work as required to meet customer needs.
• Ability to work with little supervision.
• Ability to read and interpret assembly instructions.

Responsibilities

• Operates arbor presses or riveting machines for fastening on the line.
• Assembles bundles, wheel assemblies, and smaller kits by hand.
• Removes excess material with hand files and scrapers to achieve close fits.
• Reads schematics, diagrams, blueprints, and work orders to determine materials and instructions after training.
• Operates drill presses, punch presses or riveting machines to assist in assembly.
• Operates hand truck or forklift to move materials for shipments safely.
• Able to operate most machines and tools in the department.
• Overtime and weekend work as required by the Team Leader.
• Adheres to safety rules and reports hazards or injuries.
• Maintains a safe working environment and supports team safety.
