Job summary

DRW, headquartered in Chicago, seeks an Assistant Controller for Accounting Operations to lead global AP and expense processes. You will drive automation, standardization, and timely reporting while mentoring regional teams and partnering with Procurement, Tax, and IT on improvements.

The role requires 10+ years in accounting with AP focus, CPA preferred, and a track record of process optimization across multiple entities. Chicago base with potential travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is required; CPA or equivalent preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience with focus on accounts payable or procure‑to‑pay in a multi‑entity, global environment.
• Prior supervisory or leadership experience; AP manager or assistant controller is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, month‑end close and internal controls.
• Hands‑on experience with ERP systems and AP automation; proven process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all accounts payable activities globally, including invoice processing and vendor payments.
• Drive global process standardization and automation to streamline workflow and controls.
• Oversee operating expense accruals and analyze variances with corrective actions.
• Review monthly operating expense activity and ensure correct GL coding with stakeholders.
• Supervise regional AP teams, allocate resources, and set performance expectations.
• Collaborate with Procurement, Tax, and cross‑functional teams to improve full cycle AP.
• Lead ERP/AP system improvements and vendor relationships; manage escalations.
