OpenAI is seeking a leader to build and scale the Support Engineering team, partnering with enterprise accounts, product and engineering to resolve highly complex issues and drive adoption of our platform.

You’ll lead a global, 24x7 capable team based in San Francisco with a hybrid model (3 days in the office) and relocation assistance for new hires, shaping a high-impact organization that delivers exceptional customer outcomes.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in technical support engineering or software engineering.
• 4+ years of experience leading technical teams in high-scale or fast-paced environments.
• Strong cross-functional partnership to influence engineering and product roadmaps through support-driven insights.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a global Support Engineering team delivering 24x7 coverage.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, sales and field teams to resolve escalated issues.
• Operationalize learnings at scale and drive process improvements.
• Balance strategic leadership with hands-on technical involvement when needed.
