Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a Production Associate 1 - Glass for the 3rd shift in Welcome, NC. The role involves assembling windows and doors, lifting up to 50 pounds, and following safety and quality standards.

You’ll read measurements, use hand and power tools, and participate in keeping the line efficient. Applicants should be able to work extended hours and weekends as needed, maintain pace with customer demand, and collaborate in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Pay rate $16/hr with a $1 shift differetial

The Production Associate 1 employee at Cornerstone Building Brands Aperture Solutions is responsible for various windows & doors assembly operations while ensuring we Safely make a Quality product and minimize waste/ cost, so it can be delivered on time to customers. Also, responsible for working with a sense of urgency while maintaining the flow of material throughout the plant by performing the following duties:

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Operate hand tools as required and assemble, lift, pick and pack products
  • Support and participate in Employee Engagement activities.
  • Follow defined clean-up times.
  • Work in a safe manner and follow safe work practices and policies.
  • Must follow and work to an established rate as defined by customer demand and standardized operations
  • Participate in defining and improving standard work to improve quality windows for Customers
  • Identify problems; communicate issues.
  • Assist with training co-workers.
  • Support a respectful workplace.
  • Perform other duties across the plant as needed as directed by supervision or management
Qualifications

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • Ability to read tape measures as well as read and interpret fractions and decimals
  • Ability to read at least minimum word and number recognition/Visual Cues
  • Operate power tools with dexterity, basic operations, and knowing when to change PPE
  • Identify hazards while understanding station knowledge of safety hazards/protocols/PPE
  • Variations - having knowledge of measurement standards and tolerances
  • Follow instruction and Standard Work while frequently referring Standard work instructions
  • Knowledge of product defects specifically to their workstation
  • Quality Recognition In station quality requirements/CTQ
  • Communicate Effectively by actively Listening, Explain Clearly & Accurately, Ask Questions, Share Important Info.
  • Time Management and awareness of Cycle Times
  • Ability to wear required PPE - metatarsal shoes, arm guards, ear protection, and safety glasses
  • Dependability/punctuality & Detail Oriented.
  • High school diploma is preferred.
  • Ability to bend, squat, twist, push/pull, reach and stand is required
  • Ability to consistently lift at least 50 pounds, 8 to 12 hours a day is required
  • Ability to work in a hot & cold environment is required
  • Being able to work extended hours and weekends based on business needs is required
  • Willing & able to work various positions in various departments (cross-trained) is required
  • Perform tasks requiring repetitive motion and stand for long periods is required
  • Able to comply with all company policies and procedures, including all safety regulations are required
  • Ability to follow Supervisors' instructions/directions as given is required
  • Possess the following skills: problem solving, teamwork, communication and initiative.
  • Preferred knowledge of WTS Paradigm and various ERP functionality
