Job summary

Libbey is hiring a Forming Operator Apprentice in Toledo, OH. The program trains you on forming machine operations and the glass making process, with hands-on assessments and on-machine testing to validate skills.

You will perform tasks safely, apply Lean manufacturing principles to drive continuous improvement, and commit to a four-year program. The 12-hour swing shifts run 6am–6pm and 6pm–6am, requiring a high school diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• Pass computerized assessments in math, mechanical, reading, and problem-solving.
• Demonstrate ability to use mechanical tools around equipment.
• Pass written, oral, and on-machine assessments during training.
• Availability to work any shift, days and evenings/overnights.
• Four-year department commitment.

Responsibilities

• Perform all operational tasks safely in the production environment.
• Develop understanding of forming machine operations and glass making process via assessments.
• Discipline to perform tasks per Libbey standards to reduce variation.
• Apply Lean manufacturing methodologies to drive continuous improvement in quality, cost, and delivery.
