Job summary

Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope (OBE) seeks an experienced operator to run a vertical grinder, grinding or polishing glass edges to high-quality finishes. You will read sketches, track production, and coordinate with the Lead and shift operators to meet schedules.

This is a 1st shift position, currently Monday–Friday, 6:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Ideal candidates have basic computer familiarity, can read a tape measure, and perform simple arithmetic while adhering to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Basic computer familiarity required.
• Read and use a tape measure.
• Perform basic math including decimals and fractions.

Responsibilities

• Read sketches and translate to glass edge work.
• Interpret production schedules and communicate needs to the team.
• Operate a grinder to produce ground or polished edges.
• Operate overhead crane and vacuum lift as needed.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and cleaning.
• Fill out daily worksheets and forms.
• Maintain regular, safe attendance and follow safety policies.
