Job summary

Dover Food Retail in South Chesterfield, VA is seeking an Assembler I to join a production team that manufactures glass doors, frames and subcomponents. You will assemble components according to traveler instructions and ensure a tight fit with quality checks.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED and 1–2 years in production or assembly. The role requires lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for long periods, and basic reading/writing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Basic reading and writing skills are necessary.
• Understanding of 6S is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Assemble components into subassemblies, assemblies or units per instructions.
• Inspect parts using gauges, tape measures, calipers, and fixtures.
• Perform end-of-line checks and repairs as needed.
• Notify assemblers and supervisors of upstream changes to meet specs.
• Assist with problem solving within the assembly group.
• Suggest inline checks to improve first-pass yield.
