Job summary

Patreon is seeking a GL Accounting Manager to lead the monthly close, manage core ledgers, and partner with Tax, Treasury, and FinOps. The role supports international entities and drives automation to strengthen controls.

You will work with a Finance team focused on scalable processes, accuracy, and timely reporting. Base location options include New York or San Francisco with a hybrid in-office schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent; CPA preferred.
• 5+ years of accounting, including 3+ years of audit at a Big 4 or national firm and 2+ years in industry GL/close.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and full month-end close cycle; experience with high-volume reconciliations.

Responsibilities

• Own and review core close areas: AP, T&E, accruals, prepaid, fixed assets, leases, investments, and other assets per US GAAP.
• Review close for international entities (Ireland, Portugal, UK, Australia).
• Run close in NetSuite: FX revaluation, consolidation, period management, allocations, eliminations.
• Drive process improvements and automation using AI, scripts, and workflow automation.
• Partner with budget owners and cross-functional teams to ensure complete, accurate accruals.
• Serve as primary auditor contact; prepare PBC schedules, memos, and maintain controls.
