Job summary

Coast Electric is seeking a GIS Technician II to maintain and update GIS mapping and facility data, and provide technical support for electric and CoastConnect operations.

The role involves assisting with field verification, GPS data collection, and producing engineering drawings and system maps. Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree in GIS or related field and experience with ArcMap, Autodesk, and SQL. A valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, CS, or related field; related experience may be considered.
• Experience with GIS, CAD, networks, and operation of plotters, printers, digitizers, and peripherals.
• Proficiency with ESRI ArcMap, Autodesk, Microsoft Office, and SQL.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update GIS maps and facility information from work orders and specs.
• Query, review, validate, and modify data using GIS and related applications.
• Assist with field verification and GPS data collection for accurate records.
• Prepare and revise technical drawings, maps, and substation design drawings.
• Manage data for national joint use notification system and Mississippi 811 updates.
• Support CoastConnect GIS and mapping needs.
