Job summary

Imperial Irrigation District is seeking an engineering support technician to prepare, edit and digitize engineering records, plans and GIS data in a supervised role. You will mapize GIS data, convert surveying outputs to GIS formats and help with network installations and alterations.

Requirements include a high school equivalency with relevant CS/drafting/GIS/mathematics coursework and two years of automated drafting or GIS experience; a negative drug test is required for employment.

Qualifications

• High school equivalency with supplemental courses in computer science, drafting, geographic information systems or mathematics.
• Two years of appropriate automated drafting or GIS experience.
• Negative drug test required prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, edit and digitize engineering records and plans.
• Create GIS maps and coordinate geometry to convert surveying data to GIS format.
• Review GIS data for accuracy against established specifications.
