Job summary

The City of El Paso Texas is seeking a qualified GIS Manager to oversee the operation and applications of GIS hardware and software. Under direction, you will coordinate system development, manage data and ensure security and standards.

Responsibilities include leading GIS projects, training end users, evaluating hardware and software, and collaborating with city departments to maintain continuity of services and operations.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in MIS/CS/Geography or related field plus 3 years of GIS development experience.
Experience with ArcGIS Server programming or Flex viewer programming is required.
CJIS background check is mandatory within first six months of hire.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement computerized GIS mapping systems; oversee hardware/software integration and security procedures.
Instruct and provide technical support to system end users; coordinate projects and schedules.
Analyze information processing needs and recommend upgrades to hardware/software; prepare cost estimates and bid specs.
Participate in planning committees and liaise with city departments sharing GIS resources; ensure continuity of services.
Work with GIS teams to create, maintain, and produce digitized map products.
