The City of Battle Creek, MI seeks an intermediate GIS Technician to update and maintain the city's GIS, create maps for all departments, and support users. Under limited supervision, you’ll contribute to data quality, cartography, and spatial analyses to assist City operations.

The role involves field surveys, data preparation, and producing GIS products while supporting internal and external users. A Bachelor's in GIS or related field and ESRI/GPS experience are required.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree with coursework in GIS, geography, engineering, or related field and at least one year of experience working with GIS including.
• Experience working with ESRI software and GPS hardware. Data collection preferred.
• Special Requirements: Valid driver's license in the State of Michigan.

Responsabilidades

• Administers and supports City work order management system.
• Conducts field surveys of utilities to prepare and update maps, data, and records.
• Assists with the development of all GIS features based on the needs of users within the City.
• Provides technical support for internal and external users of City GIS data and layers.
• Prepares and produces maps, and other GIS products displaying layers and attribute data; uses cartographic techniques to represent spatial data; generates reports and extracts data from the GIS database.
• Manages online map services to be consumed by internal and external users.
• Develops technical/application user manuals and provides software training.
