Job summary

Metropolitan Utilities District in Omaha, Nebraska is seeking an Intern - Geographic Information Systems to support Infrastructure Integrity. Under direct supervision, you will assist with GIS data entry, scanning, filing of documents, and completion of special projects, with accuracy and attention to detail as a daily requirement.

The role requires at least one year of college coursework in engineering, IT, geography or related fields; preference for ESRI GIS and CAD experience; strong MS

Qualifications

• Completed a minimum of one year of college-level coursework in a technical field.
• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program or pursuing postgraduate hours if recently graduated.
• Preference for ESRI GIS software experience.
• Preference for CAD software experience.
• Strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Enter GIS data and perform data entry tasks accurately.
• Scan and file documents and support special projects as assigned.
• Analyze water and gas documents to populate GIS fields.
• Assist with transferring documents to permanent electronic storage.
• Provide general project support under supervision.
