Job summary

The Hillsborough County Aviation Authority-Tampa International Airport is seeking a GIS Intern to support the development of the utility atlas for airport buildings. You will georeference construction documents using ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online, and publish results to the GIS database.

Compensation is $25.00 per hour for a 12-week program. The role requires collaboration with Maintenance and various staff, QA/QC of geolocation, and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

Practical experience with GIS, ArcGIS Pro, and ArcGIS Online.
Knowledge of coordinate systems, geodatabases, georeferencing, and construction drawings.
Strong graphic and mapping capabilities.
Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university in environmental sciences (GIS), engineering, architecture (CAD), or related fields.

Responsibilities

Assist with GIS tasks to create a utilities atlas by georeferencing construction documents.
Review and georeference construction drawings from projects by converting PDFs to raster.
Conduct QA/QC on geolocation of drawings.
Collaborate with staff in GIS initiatives working groups.
