Job summary

Westwood Professional Services in Minnesota is seeking a GIS Intern to join our geospatial services team. Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in undergrad or grad GIS/geospatial program.
• Strong verbal and written communication; professional client interaction.
• Willingness to learn in a cross-disciplinary environment.
• Occasional field data collection; office-based role.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain geodatabases and shapefiles for site selection and permitting.
• Perform spatial analyses including constraints mapping and overlays.
• Prepare publication-quality maps and exhibits for permits and client deliverables.
• Assist in integrating GPS, aerial imagery, and drone data into GIS datasets.
• Coordinate with engineers, environmental scientists, and PMs to support GIS needs.
• Maintain data quality control and metadata documentation.
