The Martin Marietta Summer GIS Internship offers students hands-on experience applying GIS in the aggregates mining industry, spanning roughly 10 weeks. You will work with GIS professionals, geologists, and engineers on real-world projects to develop technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

You'll gain exposure to geospatial data management, mapping, spatial analysis, data visualization, and other GIS applications that support Martin Marietta's operations, data accuracy, and informed

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Geographic Information Systems or related field.
• ArcGIS Pro coursework completed prior to the internship.
• Valid driver's license.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to learn technical processes and adapt to a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Follow and promote safety, environmental, and ethical standards in all work activities.
• Assist with Enterprise GIS data development and content delivery projects.
• Contribute to development and maintenance of Enterprise GIS datasets related to property boundaries, ownership, zoning, and land use.
• Integrate property records from various sources into GIS datasets.
• Collect, clean, and maintain geospatial datasets from sources (e.g., satellite imagery, GPS, surveys).
• Assist with workflow automation for repeatable geoprocessing tasks.
• Support the design and production of high-quality maps, applications, and visualizations for reports and presentations.
