Job summary

Seminole-Count is seeking a GIS student internship to provide hands-on experience in planning, preparation, and projects for the internal GIS team and countywide departments.

The role involves editing datasets, creating maps, performing spatial analysis, and supporting GIS databases and web services while maintaining documentation and following standards. Enrolled students pursuing MIS/CS/GIS are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated proficiency with Esri ArcGIS software, including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and/or ArcGIS Enterprise.
• Experience with Python, ModelBuilder, and/or SQL is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear documentation and correspondence.
• Ability to analyze data, troubleshoot issues, and learn new technologies.

Responsibilities

• Edits and creates datasets, maps, and map-based applications using ArcGIS software.
• Performs technical work to support and maintain GIS layers, maps, and toolsets.
• Maintains documentation and metadata to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
• In emergency, all employees may be required to perform alternate duties and varying schedules.
