Job summary

Austin Community College seeks a Full-Time GIS Faculty member to teach introductory through advanced GIS courses on campus, online, and in hybrid formats. The program emphasizes student success, inclusive teaching, and workforce-ready curriculum.

A successful candidate will bring industry experience and a commitment to belonging, helping grow ACC's GIS program into a regional workforce powerhouse. Position begins January 2027 and is primarily in person.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in geospatial or earth science or equivalent; Master’s with 18 grad hours acceptable.
• GISP or Esri Certifications preferred.
• Three years of non-teaching GIS work experience required; teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and teach GIS courses to a diverse student population using approved outcomes.
• Engage in curriculum & program assessment, governance, and planning.
• Evaluate student progress with timely feedback and mentor students.
• Support equity, inclusion, and student success across campus roles.
