Job summary

Austin Community College’s Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Program seeks an innovative, student-centered GIS Faculty member to teach courses on campus, online, or hybrid. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a geospatial or earth science field and three years of non-teaching GIS work experience.
OR Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in geography or geospatial coursework.
Preferred GIS Professional (GISP) or Esri certifications.

Responsibilities

Prepare and teach GIS courses to a multicultural student population.
Participate in curriculum review, program review, and assessment of outcomes.
Evaluate student progress and provide timely feedback on learning outcomes.
Mentor students in the GIS program and support program recruitment efforts.
Maintain current knowledge of the field and engage in professional development.
