Job summary

Austin Community College’s Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Program seeks an innovative, student-centered GIS Faculty member to teach courses on campus, online, or hybrid. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a geospatial or earth science field and three years of non-teaching GIS work experience.
  • OR Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in geography or geospatial coursework.
  • Preferred GIS Professional (GISP) or Esri certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and teach GIS courses to a multicultural student population.
  • Participate in curriculum review, program review, and assessment of outcomes.
  • Evaluate student progress and provide timely feedback on learning outcomes.
  • Mentor students in the GIS program and support program recruitment efforts.
  • Maintain current knowledge of the field and engage in professional development.
