Job summary

Fervo is seeking a GIS Developer to design, build, and maintain geospatial applications, dashboards, and field-data tools. You will configure Esri platforms, deploy mobile data collection solutions, and collaborate with GIS, Engineering, Land, and Permitting teams to deliver reliable geospatial workflows.

The role focuses on development within Fervo's GIS program, including custom apps, platform configuration, and real-time data integration for field crews and office operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience developing and deploying apps within Esri platform (ArcGIS Online/Enterprise, Experience Builder, Dashboard).
• Experience configuring and administering ArcGIS mobile apps (Field Maps, Survey123, Workforce, QuickCapture).
• Proficiency in Python for GIS automation (ArcPy, arcgis Python API).
• Working knowledge of REST APIs and web service integration patterns.
• Strong understanding of GIS data formats and coordinate systems for Western U.S. projects.

Responsibilities

• Design and build custom GIS web applications using ArcGIS Experience Builder, ArcGIS Instant Apps, Web AppBuilder, and the Esri JavaScript API.
• Develop and maintain ArcGIS dashboards, StoryMaps, and operational views for project teams and leadership reporting.
• Automate geospatial workflows and geoprocessing tasks using Python (ArcPy, arcgis module) and ModelBuilder.
• Build and maintain hosted feature layers, map services, and web maps via ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise/Portal.
• Evaluate Esri platform capabilities and recommend adoption of new tools aligned with project needs.
• Deploy, configure, and manage ArcGIS Field Maps, Survey123, Workforce, and QuickCapture for field operations.
• Design mobile data collection forms, offline maps, and workflows for remote project sites.
• Coordinate with GIS Data Manager on service schemas, data updates, and automation.
