Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a GIS Specialist to maintain and enhance Lands & Right of Way spatial datasets using ArcGIS, Python, and FME. You will edit geometries, ensure data governance, and run automated workflows to support planning and decision-making.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Geography or GIS with 4 years of GIS experience, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate across teams including Lands & Right of Way. This on-site position is based in Minnesota, United States.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, Geomatics, Surveying, or related field with 4 years GIS experience.
• Experience with ArcGIS Pro and/or ArcGIS Enterprise in a production environment.
• Knowledge of GIS data structures, geodatabases, coordinate systems, and geoprocessing techniques.
• Experience editing spatial data including land parcels and boundary datasets.
• Working knowledge of Python scripting (ArcPy preferred), ESRI ModelBuilder, and FME for GIS automation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills with a dedication to data accuracy.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities to convey technical GIS information.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, revise, and verify GIS datasets using ArcGIS tools.
• Edit and manage spatial geometries, ensuring data accuracy and governance.
• Complete Python scripts, ArcPy tools, FME workflows for automation and data integration.
• Perform spatial analysis and generate maps, reports, and visual products for business operations.
• Conduct QA/QC to identify and resolve data inconsistencies and topology issues.
• Provide front-line support to internal collaborators by responding to GIS inquiries.
• Collaborate with Lands & Right of Way teams and cross-functional partners on projects and data management initiatives.
