Job summary

Southern Company Gas seeks a strategic leader to direct the enterprise GIS and Asset Data organization. You will define strategy, governance, and roadmaps, while guiding cross‑functional teams and external partners to ensure reliable asset information and regulatory readiness.

You will lead budgets, vendor relationships, and program governance, driving impactful data initiatives across operations, engineering, and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in GIS, geography, engineering, information systems, or related field and 10+ years in GIS/asset data roles.
• 5+ years leading teams, programs, or enterprise initiatives.
• Experience with enterprise GIS, asset data governance, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience managing budgets, vendor relationships, and executive communications.

Responsibilities

• Establish GIS and asset data strategy, operating model, and technology roadmap.
• Lead cross‑functional teams including employees, contractors, and vendors.
• Develop governance, data quality, lifecycle management, and records controls.
• Sponsor technology investments, system enhancements, and modernization initiatives.
• Provide governance, risk management, and executive reporting for strategic initiatives.
