Job summary

Comal County is seeking a GIS Technician to develop, maintain, and enhance GIS applications and web tools. You will analyze data in County databases, create and refine queries, and ensure data integrity.

Responsibilities include supporting GIS programs, scripts, and related technologies; providing user support; and building automated processes to aid County operations. Strong independence and communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• Three years of database-related experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes data within County databases to develop improved data organization methods.
• Develops and maintains database queries to manipulate and retrieve information.
• Performs quality control checks to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
• Develops, maintains, and supports GIS applications, web apps, and related tools.
• Provides technical assistance and troubleshooting for GIS software and databases.
• Develops applications and automated processes to support County operations.
• Performs system and application testing and implements enhancements.
• Attendance is an essential function of the job.
• Other duties as assigned.
