University of Houston System is seeking a GIS Analyst to support campus planning, operations, research, and public engagement by building, maintaining, and analyzing geospatial datasets and creating maps, dashboards, and web apps.
The role collects and cleans geospatial data, produces cartographically sound maps and dashboards, performs spatial analyses, develops repeatable workflows, and ensures data governance and QA/QC in line with university standards.

The Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Analyst supports campus planning, operations, research, and public engagement by building, maintaining, and analyzing geospatial datasets and creating high-quality maps, dashboards, and web apps.
Department is willing to accept education in lieu of experience.
Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4-year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed.
Degree in Geography/Geospatial Science, Urban Planning, Environmental Science, GIS, Computer Science, or related field or associate's degree with 2- 5 years of professional GIS experience (higher-education or public sector preferred).
Requires a minimum of three (3) years of directly job-related experience. Preferred: Experience integrating CAD/BIM, survey, and remote sensing into campus GIS. 3D GIS (Scene Viewer, ArcGIS Urban), network analysis, and mobility/accessibility modeling. Familiarity with open-source tools (QGIS), cloud GIS, and versioned enterprise geodatabases. Prior work supporting campus planning, facilities management, sustainability programs, or emergency operations.
