Job summary

Coconino County GIS team seeks a qualified professional to design, develop, and support enterprise GIS systems using ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online. The role requires collaboration with GIS staff and IT peers, delivering complex GIS-centric applications, data integration, and project oversight.

The ideal candidate has a relevant degree and multiple years of GIS experience, strong programming in Python/SQL, and ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in geography, urban planning, environmental science, or related field, and four years of progressively responsible experience with Geographical Information Systems, programming, systems analysis, or integration and management, OR
• Associate degree in geography, urban planning, environmental science, or related field, and five years of progressively responsible experience with Geographical Information Systems, programming, systems analysis, or integration and management, OR
• Six years of progressively responsible experience with Geographical Information Systems, programming, systems analysis, or integration and management, OR
• Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.

Responsibilities

• Designs, develops, programs, and supports integrated GIS systems
• Designs and implements custom web applications for internal and public use within ArcGIS Online, helps to administer organizational items and members
• Provides oversight and management for large projects
• Utilizes various software and extensions to perform complex GIS analysis
• Utilizes various programming languages like Python and SQL in support of ETL processes
• Works closely with GIS staff and departments to understand business needs, prepares technical specifications, and recommends options to stakeholders
• Researches and implements new technologies and methodologies for GIS solutions in coordination with the GIS Manager; documents processes and procedures
• Assists in administering server infrastructure within an ArcGIS Enterprise deployment, and troubleshooting errors that may occur
• May be asked to be on call during emergency events
