Job summary

Nevada Department of Transportation in Carson City, NV seeks a GIS Analyst 1 underfill for a GIS Analyst 2 to support statewide planning, data management, and GIS product development. The role focuses on designing, testing, and implementing GIS applications and managing diverse geospatial data to guide NDOT’s initiatives.

The incumbent will work with staff and consultants to ensure GIS datasets, maps, and digital products meet quality standards and usability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in geographic information systems, geography, cartography, computer information systems, or closely related field with 1 year GIS experience.
• Associate's degree in GIS-related field with 2 years GIS experience incl. data collection/analysis; or cartographic design.
• High school diploma with 3 years GIS experience incl. professional GIS tasks.

Responsibilities

• Design, test, and implement GIS applications and products.
• Develop methodologies to meet project objectives and manage geospatial data.
• Coordinate with staff, consultants, and leadership to ensure data quality and usability.
• Maintain GIS datasets and ensure maps and digital products meet standards.
