Job summary

MARICOPA HIGH SCHOOL in Maricopa, AZ is seeking a Girls Varsity Wrestling Assistant Coach to lead and mentor student-athletes. You will instruct, supervise practices, and support the head coach and athletic director in coordinating contests and team activities.

The role requires coaching experience, safety certifications including First Aid/CPR, and knowledge of district athletic policies. This is a stipend-based position with hours arranged per season.

Qualifications

• Experience in coaching athletic activities.
• Familiarity with district athletic policies and safety standards.
• First Aid and CPR certification.
• NFHS Coaches Course including Concussion Course must be completed.
• Arizona Department of Education or AIA certification is required for Head Coaches.

Responsibilities

• Coach girls varsity wrestling and develop athletes’ skills.
• Provide a positive learning environment and emphasize discipline and sportsmanship.
• Plan in-season practice schedules consistent with district policy and regulations.
• Manage athlete behavior during training and competitions.
• Maintain safety and supervise facility conditions at all times.
• Coordinate with Athletic Director and assist in scheduling events and rosters.
