Job summary

Bristol Public Schools seeks a Girls Softball Assistant Coach for BEHS to instruct athletes in fundamental skills, strategy, and training while promoting discipline, sportsmanship, and self-esteem. The role covers varsity and junior varsity, with emphasis on safety, scheduling, and adherence to CIAC and district policies.

The position requires CT coaching certification and CPR/First Aid, and works within the A-2 salary schedule.

Qualifications

• Ability to supervise a total sports program and staff.
• Knowledge of governing rules and CIAC/ NCAA guidelines.
• Budget input and equipment management experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the overall supervision of the softball program including JV and freshman teams.
• Assign duties to assistant coaches and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Manage equipment, uniforms, and inventory for all teams.
• Ensure safety and discipline, and enforce student-athlete handbook policies.
• Coordinate transportation and tournament logistics with athletic staff.
• Attend league meetings and develop schedules for all levels.
• Prepare and maintain facilities, equipment storage, and security.
• Evaluate staff and report postseason results to the Director of Athletics.
