Job summary

Briarcliff Manor Union Free School District is seeking a Head Coach for Girls Modified Basketball in the Athletic Department. The role focuses on organizing and supervising the program, coaching players, and ensuring safety and sportsmanship while promoting academic success.

The coach will guide a staff of assistants, coordinate practices and competitions with the athletic director, and mentor student athletes to develop character, teamwork, and resilience.

Qualifications

• Has the ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
• Has previous successful coaching experience in assigned sport.
• Must have substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of basketball and stay updated on new theories.
• Must serve as an appropriate role model for student athletes through instruction and actions.

Responsibilities

• Advise, coordinate and support a staff of coaches under the athletic director.
• Instruct athletes in fundamental skills, strategy and physical training.
• Maintain discipline and supervise staff effectiveness and development.
• Schedule transportation and tournament planning in coordination with the athletic director.
• Provide documentation for eligibility and safety policies.
• Mentor athletes to develop character traits: trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, citizenship.
