Job summary

Briarcliff Manor School District is seeking a Boys Varsity Basketball Head Coach for the 26-27 season. The role involves leading a high school sports program, supervising a staff of coaches, and promoting strong academics, discipline and character in student athletes.

The head coach will work under the athletic director and high school principal, guiding players through skills development, game strategy and team culture.

Qualifications

• Has the ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
• Has previous successful coaching experience in assigned sport (Major sports).
• The head coach must have substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport and stay updated with new theories and procedures.
• Must serve as an appropriate role model for student athletes through instruction and actions.

Responsibilities

• Instruct athletes in fundamental skills, strategy and physical training for individual and team success.
• Upgrade knowledge and skills through coaching clinics, observations and consultation.
• Supervise and coordinate staff of coaches under athletic director and principal.
• Assist athletic director with scheduling, transportation and events; ensure compliance with policies.
