LEAP Academy University Charter School in Camden, NJ seeks an Assistant Coach for Girls Basketball to partner with the Athletic Director, develop players, and drive peak performance during competitions, tournaments, matches, and all qualifying events. The coach will contribute game insight and lead practice while helping establish a strong recruiting approach.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• NJSIAA Certified.
• CPR & First Aid Certified.
• Proven track record of successful leadership and team progression.
• Knowledgeable on the latest development and innovative training methods and techniques.
• Must be available for all games.

Responsibilities

• Recruit a strong, high quality team; maintaining the minimum of 15 per sport.
• Schedule all athletes for their sports physicals with the Wellness Clinic.
• Plan/Propose a minimum of three fundraisers to help with necessary team purchases.
• Arrange transportation to various sporting engagements.
• Coordinate weekly updates on student grades and disciplinary actions for eligibility to play.
• Develop team practice schedule and share with Principals and Office Managers.
• Document injuries and seek medical attention when necessary.
• Plan and prep "Senior Night" Home Game.
• Effectively communicate the rules and procedures of the sport.
• Motivate and provide direction to athletes on self-development.
• Plan and implement fitness conditioning training schedule.
• Advise and counsel athletes on nutrition, health, safety and equipment.
• Assess, evaluate, and maintain a log of athletes' performance.
• Promote teambuilding spirit to support success.
• Monitor athletes' attendance, participation, and behavior.
