Job summary

Bureau of Indian Education in the United States is seeking a Transitional Teacher (Gifted & Talented) to deliver instruction at professional level across various settings. The role requires a Bachelor's degree, enrollment in an approved state licensure program, and the ability to obtain full state certification within three contract terms. It is exempt from FLSA.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited education institution.
  • Proof of enrollment in a state's alternative licensure program within 90 days of start date.
  • Endorsement/subject field matching state requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Plan yearly instructional outlines and daily lesson plans with objectives and evaluative methods.
  • Teach using appropriate instructional methods to develop cognitive, affective and psychomotor skills.
  • Continuously evaluate progress with tests and alternative assessments.
  • Maintain records and communicate progress to parents and concerned individuals.
  • Manage classroom discipline and provide targeted support for individual students.
