Wilson County Schools Instructional Services is seeking an AIG Specialist to provide direct and indirect instruction to gifted learners and collaborate with staff to differentiate learning experiences.

The ideal candidate holds a NC AIG teaching license, has 5+ years of classroom teaching with gifted students, and will lead enrichment opportunities while maintaining records and aligning with state standards.

Qualifications

• Certified North Carolina AIG teaching license required.
• 5+ years of classroom teaching experience with gifted students.
• Strong organizational and communication skills are required.
• Good knowledge of NC Standard Course of Study and instructional pedagogy.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement challenging curriculum aligned to state standards for gifted learners.
• Differentiate instruction to match diverse needs of AIG students.
• Coordinate enrichment experiences to develop potential and engagement.
• Collaborate with regular teachers, counselors, admins and parents to support learning.
• Coordinate testing for state identification of AIG students and maintain records.
• Stay current with best practices in gifted education and participate in professional development.
