Job summary

Scottsdale Unified School District is seeking a Gifted Specialist to serve as a content replacement teacher for identified gifted learners in 3rd-5th grade math and 4th-5th grade reading. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a job-related area.
• Minimum two years experience teaching gifted students (pull-out, cluster, or self-contained).
• Experience using data driven decision-making to improve classroom instruction.
• Training and experience in instructional strategies and planning in Grades 6-8.

Responsibilities

• Possess a deep understanding of learning theory and the needs of gifted learners, including social-emotional aspects and creativity.
• Demonstrate exemplary classroom instruction using gifted teaching strategies.
• Demonstrate strong differentiation strategies and model them across content areas.
• Advocate for gifted learners by coaching teachers and pursuing opportunities to initiate coaching.
• Develop differentiated curricula to meet student needs and create authentic assessments.
• Collaborate with instructional staff, parents, and community resources to improve student outcomes.
• Counsel students to improve performance, health, problem solving, and well-being.
• Participate in meetings (staff, district, IEPs, 504s) to convey or gather information.
