Job summary

The Gifted Specialist position at Scottsdale Unified School District 48 supports identified gifted learners in 3rd–5th grade Math and 4th–5th grade Reading. The role also provides guidance to cluster and regular classroom teachers and helps create differentiated learning opportunities on campus.

Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor's degree, at least two years of gifted instruction experience, and experience with data-driven decision making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in job-related area.
• Minimum two years experience teaching gifted students.
• Experience using data driven decision-making to improve classroom instruction.
• Training and experience in instructional strategies and planning in Grades 6-8.

Responsibilities

• Provide content replacement teaching for 3rd–5th grade gifted students.
• Coach and support regular classroom teachers on differentiation.
• Develop differentiated curriculum to meet student needs.
• Collaborate with staff, families, and community resources.
• Participate in meetings (IEPs, 504s, etc.) to support outcomes.
• Counsel students to improve performance and well-being.
