Job summary

Thunder Valley Casino Resort is seeking a Gift Shop Supervisor to lead clerks, cashiers, and leads while ensuring AAA Four Diamond service standards. You will coordinate with Spa & Retail Ops management to develop staff, oversee merchandising, and drive sales in a busy, guest-focused environment on site.

Responsibilities include daily huddles, inventory control, recruiting assistance, and executing marketing plans for the Gift Shop. Must be 21+ and able to obtain UAIC Tribal Gaming License.

Qualifications

• Two years gift shop or retail experience preferred.
• One year supervisory experience in retail preferred.
• Proficient in inventory tracking and retail systems.
• Ability to understand basic accounting functions.
• Proficient math skills.
• Basic computer skills preferred.
• Must be organized and detail oriented.
• Ability to handle Guest opportunities.
• Effective communication with Guests, Team Members and Management.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Must obtain UAIC Tribal Gaming License.

Position Summary

The Gift Shop Supervisor provides direction to Gift Shop Clerk/Cashiers and Leads and ensures that AAA Four Diamond service standards are provided to all Guests and Team Members. Works with the Spa & Retail Operations Manager and Gift Shop Assistant Manager in developing the Leads and Cashiers to perform their responsibilities in accordance with established Gift Shop policies, procedures, and objectives. Responsibilities must be performed in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures.

Essential Functions

• 1. Practice, support, and promote Thunder Valley Casino Resorts ELITE company-wide service mission and demonstrate AAA Four Diamond service standards at all times.
• 2. Manage the daily retail staff including leads, cashiers, and floor team members.
• 3. Ensure merchandise is clean, ready to be displayed, and in line with fluctuating supply and demand.
• 4. Arrange store displays to stimulate sales and maintain AAA Four Diamond standards.
• 5. Protect Team Members and customers by providing a safe and clean store environment.
• 6. Assist with responding to Guest questions and opportunities.
• 7. Assist Team Members in stocking of merchandise and serving Guests.
• 8. Ensure Team Members are watchful of store merchandise to eliminate theft and spoilage.
• 9. Develop rapport with Guests with the objective of generating repeat Guest visits and sales, and coach Team Members to do the same.
• 10. Coach and develop Team Members to achieve expected goals by maintaining a consistent approachable demeanor and articulating department expectations.
• 11. Ensure Team Members are held equally accountable for all Thunder Valley Casino Resort and Gift Shop policy and procedures.
• 12. Foster a success-oriented, accountable environment within the company.
• 13. Responsible for conducting daily huddles outlining activities and expectations to ensure AAA Four Diamond standards are achieved and maintained by Team Members.
• 14. Utilize point-of-sale (POS) system and inventory systems to record sales figures for data analysis and forward planning under direction of the Spa & Retail Operations Manager and Gift Shop Assistant Manager.
• 15. Assist Spa & Retail Operations Manager and Gift Shop Assistant Manager with recruiting, selecting, and training Team Members.
• 16. Participate in purchasing, merchandising, and inventory management.
• 17. Assist with the development and implementation of marketing and business plans related to Gift Shop operations.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• 1. Two (2) years gift shop or other retail experience preferred.
• 2. One (1) year of supervisory experience in a gift shop or other retail environment preferred.
• 3. Proficient in inventory tracking and retail systems.
• 4. Ability to understand basic accounting function.
• 5. Proficient math skills.
• 6. Basic computer skills preferred.
• 7. Must be organized and detail oriented.
• 8. Ability to handle Guest opportunities.
• 9. Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members and Management in both written and verbal form.
• 10. Must be at least 21 years of age.
• 11. Must be able to obtain UAIC Tribal Gaming License.

Physical Requirements

• 1. Requires normal, corrective vision range, the ability to see color and the ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols.
• 2. Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
• 3. Ability to stand and move around gift shop for duration of shift.
• 4. Must be able to reach a height up to 6 feet with or without assistance.
• 5. Ability to climb and use a stepladder when necessary to perform functions of the job.
• 6. Manual dexterity to use job related equipment.
