Job description

The Gift Shop Attendant sells gift shop merchandise to customers. Unpacks, verifies, and inspects received goods, rejecting damaged items or incorrect orders. Maintains records of items received. Prepares goods for display or sale and sorts and distributes items to the appropriate department.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Preferred: Certification course in sales, marketing, or business management for better future prospects.
• Ability to work as part of a team. Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Customer service skills and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to learn about store goods to assist in customer explanations.
• Excellent communication and customer service ethics.

Responsibilities

• Handle exchange of goods.
• Accept payments and provide receipts upon sale.
• Arrange demonstrations of goods.
• Assist customers in choosing products.
• Place price tags and arrange goods attractively.
• Perceive customer needs and recommend appropriate merchandise.
• Manage multiple tasks and time efficiently.
