Job summary

Taawaki Inn is seeking a Gift Shop Attendant to deliver friendly, efficient customer service and accurately process sales at our Clarkdale store. You will maintain a clean, organized shop, assist guests with merchandise questions, and help with shipping orders as needed.

The role requires basic retail experience, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and willingness to work weekends/evenings/holidays. Training will cover safety, service standards, and POS operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 18 years of age.
• 1 year of retail or customer service experience preferred.
• Drug screening and criminal background check required.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Comfortable handling cash and using a POS system.
• Flexible to work weekends, evenings and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Guest Service & Sales: assist guests with merchandise questions and promote purchases.
• Process sales using the POS system, handle payments and provide correct change.

Gift Shop Attendant

Position Summary

The Gift Shop Attendant is responsible for providing friendly and efficient customer service, accurately processing sales transactions, maintaining a clean and organized store, and assisting guests with merchandise inquiries. This role supports a positive guest experience while meeting Taawaki Inn's standards for safety, service, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Service & Sales

• Assist guests with merchandise questions and promote purchases to support overall sales goals.
• Accurately process sales using the POS system, handle payments, and provide correct change.
• Pack and ship customer orders as requested and assist with related inquiries.

Shop Operations & Merchandising

• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming store environment.
• Restock shelves, organize displays, and assist with merchandise presentation to enhance the guest experience.
• Support inventory counts to ensure accurate stock levels.
• Receive, unpack, inspect, price, ship and stock incoming merchandise.
• File invoices and purchase orders as directed by the Gift Shop Supervisor
• Perform other duties as assigned to support business operations and team needs

Qualifications & Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• One year of retail or customer service experience is preferred.
• Must pass a drug screening and criminal background check.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective guest and team interactions.
• Organized and detail-oriented with solid time management skills.
• Comfortable using a Point of Sale (POS) system and handling cash transactions accurately.

Work Environment & Expectations

• Position may be full-time or part-time based on operational needs (generally 30+ hours per week or 80 hours per pay period).
• Maintain a proactive approach to delivering excellent customer service while completing store upkeep tasks reliably.
• Present a professional appearance at all times, including adherence to company grooming and cleanliness standards.
• Follow all company policies, procedures, and behavioral expectations consistently to support a positive guest experience and workplace culture.
