Job summary

Watson Clinic seeks a patient care assistant to support pre-op and recovery activities in the GI unit. You will assist nursing staff, help with admissions and discharges, and perform light housekeeping and clerical tasks to maintain unit efficiency.

The role emphasizes patient safety, effective communication, and adherence to center policies. Prior hospital or surgery center experience is preferred, with CPR certification required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1–2 years hospital or surgery center experience.
• Current CPR Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing personnel in all areas of the GI Unit as directed by R.N.
• Assist in admission and discharge processes with vital signs and patient dressing.
• Handle light housekeeping duties: Clean and restock supplies, dispose of waste, and prepare rooms between patients.
• Demonstrate effective communication with patients and health team members.
• Adhere to safety procedures and center policies, including fire and disaster plans.
• Perform clerical tasks and support unit activities as directed by the R.N.
