Job summary

Advocate Health is hiring for a GI Technical Specialist to support procedures and patient care in the 36802 AMC Grafton facility. The role requires assisting in intraprocedural activities, specimen handling, and safety initiatives.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma, 1 year of relevant experience, and certification requirements pursued within six months. 36 hours per week with a mix of 8 and 10-hour shifts, on-call weeknights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate required.
• 1 year of experience in nursing assistant, medical assistant or similar patient care position preferred.
• Knowledge of endoscope and ultrasound information systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care activities under RN/physician supervision.
• Assist physicians with specimen retrieval, labeling and transport to lab.
• Prepare and organize procedure rooms and equipment per physician specifications.
• Perform high level disinfection and reprocessing of equipment.
• Document procedures and patient charges in endoscope/ultrasound systems.
• Maintain inventory and stock supplies for the unit.
• Handle clerical duties including phones, filing, data entry and scheduling.
• Assist with patient positioning and safe transport; lift up to 50 lbs.
