Job summary

Sanford Health in Marshfield, WI is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support surgical teams and ensure sterile technique across procedures. The role works under supervision of surgeons and licensed professionals to enhance patient safety and efficiency in the operating room.

The position requires OR experience or formal credentialing in surgical technology or LPN with related competencies, BLS within 60 days, and flexibility for call duties as described. Benefits accompany full-time employment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of surgical technology or graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) required.
• Experience in an operating room setting is preferred. Must have a good knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical and surgical terminology, instrumentation, aseptic techniques, and surgical procedures acquired through post-secondary training.
• National certification as a Surgical Technologist preferred.
• If an LPN, currently holds an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with State Nursing board and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within first 60 days of employment into position.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care that meets quality care standards during surgical procedures.
• Maintain an organized sterile field and ensure equipment functions properly.
• Prepare the surgical environment, including supplies and devices, for procedures.
• Provide patient care support before, during, and after procedures as assigned.
