Job summary

The Surgery Center of Ft. Lauderdale is seeking an OR/GI Manager (RN) for a full-time role in Florida. The manager collaborates with physicians, staff, and vendors, oversees perioperative services, and ensures quality and efficiency in surgical suites including GI, orthopedic, and other specialties.

Responsibilities include staff development, performance evaluations, budgeting, equipment and supply management, and participation in interviews. Requires RN licensure and prior OR experience.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred.
• Minimum five years nursing experience with OR exposure.
• Three years operating room experience preferred.
• Current OR RN license is required.
• Certification in BLS, ACLS & PALS within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Oversees OR/GI perioperative services and staffing.
• Coordinates equipment, supply, and case needs with materials manager.
• Ensures patient safety and quality through performance improvement.
• Collaborates with administrator to meet facility goals.
• Participates in staff interviews and evaluates performance.
• Manages department operations, budget, and conflicts.
• Serves as RN Circulator when needed.
• Leads multidisciplinary perioperative planning and care.

OR/GI Manager at The Surgery Center Of Ft Lauderdale.

This position establishes effective working relationships with all constituencies including patients, physicians, employees and vendors. Coordinates special equipment, supply and equipment needs for cases working closely with the materials manager. The OR/GI Manager identifies and remedies through continuous customer satisfaction data and employee involvement. The OR Manager works with the Administrator in meeting Facility goals. Oversees surgery, anesthesia, and sterile processing services. Assists as RN Circulator as necessary.

• Clinical resource for perioperative services staff members using evidence-based knowledge and prevailing standards.
• Evaluates current practice through quality and performance improvement measures.
• Demonstrate effective communication and collaboration skills with members of the perioperative team and other stakeholders.
• Coordinates, facilitates, and manages change within the health care organization.
• Serve as a member of a multidisciplinary team in planning perioperative patient care.
• Use effective conflict resolution techniques.
• Operationally and fiscally manage the perioperative services department.
• Collect and analyze data that applies to perioperative services to facilitate collaboration and negotiation with stakeholders.
• Participate in interviews for staff selection.
• Evaluates staff member performance.
• Serve as a role model of professional behavior.
• Assess the political climate within the organization
• Ensure that the appropriate personnel, equipment, and supplies are available.
• Pursue professional growth and participate in a professional organization.

Qualifications:

• Associates in nursing from an approved nursing school required; BSN preferred
• Five (5) years of nursing experience
• Three (3) years of operating room experience preferred
• ASC / HOPD management experience preferred
• Current OR RN license
• Current certification in BLS - ACLS & PALS within 6 months of hire.
