Job summary

The Special Procedure Technician at Saint Francis Medical Center assists with endoscopic procedures in the GI Lab under the direction of the Manager of the Center for Digestive Diseases, the RN or physician. This full-time role covers proctoscopies, colonoscopies, ERCPs, and related interventions across GI Lab, Radiology and acute care areas.

HSD required with BLS certification; strong communication and interpersonal skills for emergency settings; prior nursing/healthcare assistant experience

Qualifications

• Requires minimum high school diploma and BLS certification.
• Completion of orientation to the Center for Digestive Diseases is preferred.
• Ability to act and function in emergency situations is required.
• Effective communication and interpersonal relationship skills are essential.
• Previous experience as a Nursing Assistant or other healthcare position with relevant competencies is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with endoscopic procedures including proctoscopies, colonoscopies, and ERCPs in GI Lab, Radiology and acute care areas.
• Support during panendoscopies, sclerotherapies, esophageal or pyloric dilatations, PEGs.
• Work under the direction of Manager of the Center for Digestive Diseases, RN or physician.
